The purpose of this article is to explain how long Vanderbilt email accounts remain active.

  • Have a Vanderbilt email account

Description

The following chart illustrates the general email account expiration policy: 

  V-Mail VU Gmail
Faculty ​+4 months from last day of employment ​N/A
Staff ​Expires the last day of employment N/A
Emeritus ​Never N/A
Undergraduate Student ​+1 year from last day as an enrolled student +1 year from last day as an enrolled student
Former ​Undergraduate Student
and Vanderbilt Employee		 ​Expires the last day of employment +1 year from last day as an enrolled student
Graduate Student ​+1 year from last day as an enrolled student N/A
