Submitting a Domain at Risk flag
If you want to address a concern with a student outside of the regular Midcourse Feedback and Final Grades (or even after the course has ended), you can submit a Domain At Risk Flag through the Student Page in the Course. To do so, click the flag icon underneath the Student Name, which will open up a form you can fill out.

The Student Name and Course are auto populated, you will have to select a Domain that is related to the concern in the ‘Domain at Risk’ dropdown menu. If there are concerns for more than 1 domain, a separate Domain at Risk Flag should be completed for each domain. The Comments Field is required and has no character limit. Please include as detailed information as possible.
Lastly, select whether this Domain at Risk Flag also puts the student at Risk for failure or impact on promotion.

Course Directors for Courses shorter than 4 weeks will be prompted per email to submit any concerns through this Domain at Risk process at the Course midpoint. See an example of the email below:

A Learning Goal is automatically created if the flag was submitted during the course.
Once you submit the Domain at Risk flag, a Learning Goal will be automatically created within the course. If you see a flag icon behind a Learning Goal Name, it means it was automatically created as a result of a Domain at Risk flag being created. The student will be able to edit the Learning Goal as normal, but will not be able to change the Course Association or Archive the goal. Coaches and Course Directors can leave comments if needed. For more information on Learning Goals, refer to our Learning Goal Knowledge Article.

If a flag was created after the course has ended, no learning goal will have been created.

A Domain at Risk Flag is created within the Student Portfolio Progress section.
When a student receives a 'Domain At Risk’ flag, this will be logged as a flag in the Areas of Concern within their Student Portfolio. This will be visible for Coaches, Students and the Promotions Committee.

Email Notification after Flag Creation
The Student and their Coach will also receive an email notification, letting them know that a flag was submitted. Below is an example of an email a student will receive. The first paragraph of the email will always be the same, but the 'At Risk for Failing' and 'Learning Goal' sections will change depending on whether a Learning Goal was created and/or you have selected 'Yes' on the student being at risk for failure.
