Students will now be given the opportunity to evaluate individual educators they have worked or interacted with. They will be prompted to fill out an Evaluation every time a Clinical Supervisor Assessment is submitted, and are able to initiate an evaluation on ad hoc basis as well. This article will walk through both scenarios.
Educator Evaluations are confidential and any feedback will be released to the educator after grades have been assigned at predetermined times to protect student's anonymity. If you experienced an incident of mistreatment or unprofessional behavior, please submit this information through the 'Reporting Issues in Striving for Excellence (RISE) system at https://rise.app.vanderbilt.edu
Scenario A: Prompted Educator Evaluation through Clinical Supervisor Assessment
When a student submits a Clinical Supervisor Assessment (Compass Assessment) they receive a pop up asking them whether they would like to submit an educator evaluation for the same assessor.
- Option 1: Select ‘No’
No other action required
- Option 2: Select ‘Yes’
A new window will open up with the Educator Evaluation. After the student submits the evaluation.they can review their submission in the Student Portfolio under the ‘Evaluations’ tab. Here they can also access evaluations that have not been completed yet.
Students can review their submission in the Student Portfolio under the ‘Evaluations’ tab. Here they can also access evaluations that have not been completed yet and edit them by clicking the pencil icon in the actions column. If the evaluation has been completed, an eye icon in the same column will allow them to view their submission. Please allow up to 2 minutes for the system to process the completion. You may also need to refresh the page after those minutes for the evaluation to show as completed.
Scenario B: Ad Hoc Educator Evaluation
Students can submit an ad hoc Educator Evaluation by navigating to the ‘Evaluations’ tab in the student portfolio and clicking ‘+Evaluation’.
From there, a form similar to the Clinical Supervisor Assessments can be filled out to trigger the Educator Evaluation.
After clicking 'send’ the form the Evaluation form will appear in a new window.
Students can review their submissions in the Student Portfolio under the ‘Evaluations’ tab that they will be taken to after submission.
