Poll Everywhere

Poll Everywhere is an interactive polling and engagement tool that lets instructors and presenters collect real-time feedback from participants through live polls, Q&A, and surveys. Accessible on any device, it integrates with PowerPoint and Google Slides to make classes and events more interactive and engaging.

Vstar Help Center

VSTAR Next is the School of Medicine's Assessment and Grading portal. You may find the following elements housed in VSTAR Next: Vital Experiences, Student Affairs Calendaring, Course Management, Student Portfolios, Portfolio Coach Processes, Learning Network, Grading and Assessments including Faculty, MCT, Peer, and Clinical Supervisor Assessments.

VSTAR Learn is the School of Medicine's Learning Management System built on Moodle's open source platform. Students access Learn for resource materials for each course. These include assignments, lecture materials, quizzes, and course announcements.

VSTAR Login Issues arise when there has been a change in identity such as password expiration or employment change. All VSTAR platforms utilize University credentials to log in separate from VUMC credentials.

VSTAR Access Requests can be made using the VSTAR Access Request button.

Echo360

Echo360 is a lecture capture and video playback platform that allows students to review recorded class sessions anytime, from any device. Recordings may include slides, instructor audio, video, and screen content helping students revisit material, take notes, and study more effectively.

Aperio

Aperio is a VUMC hosted platform used in the first year of the MD program and contains digital histology and pathology slides used in lectures. The Education Design & Informatics team partners with the Digital Histology Shared Resource team to help support this phase of the curriculum.

Testing Support

Vanderbilt School of Medicine utilizes two testing software platforms; Examplify and NBME. Examplify is an offline testing application aiding in Exam integrity used in the FMK phase and the NBME secure browser disables functions outside of the exam. For support with either testing platforms whether you are a faculty or student, please submit a ticket.

Data Request

This service provides support for institutional data needs, including one-time data exports, enhancements to existing dashboards, and development of new data visualizations. Submit your request with relevant details such as goals, required data elements, and intended audience. Our team will review your submission and collaborate with you to ensure your data request aligns with your objectives and timelines.

RISE

The Reporting Issues in Striving for Excellence platform, or RISE is Vanderbilt University School of Medicine's incident and accolades reporting tool. It embraces our responsibility to create and support a learning environment for our learners. We are confident that safe and effective care of patients is shaped by an environment of quality medical education that is rooted in human dignity. We aspire to have a learning environment within which all people witness and experience a sense of respect, collegiality, and cooperation. These qualities are expected of all who impact the environment of patient care: administrators, advanced learners, other health professionals, teachers, patients and staff. RISE is available to Vanderbilt School of Medicine students to report faculty accolades and incidents of unprofessional behavior.

MSPE

The Medical Student Performance Evaluation (MSPE), is a requirement of medical students applying for residency. This standardized document is used to evaluate applicants which includes academic records, clinical performance, and other characteristics. For support, please reach out by submitting a help ticket.
