Description
Once an IT project request is submitted, it enters the VUIT Project Request Governance Process, which determines whether the request becomes an approved project led by a project manager. This process includes two key decision points:
- Approval to Scope: The request is reviewed by the G2 Governance Committee, which includes representatives from all Vice Chancellor areas. If approved, a VUIT Project Manager is assigned to begin scoping.
- Approval to Execute: After scoping and requirements gathering, the project returns to G2 for final approval to begin execution.
The VUIT Relationship Manager guides the customer through the Approval to Scope phase. Once a project manager is assigned, they support the customer through the Approval to Execute phase.
Customers are expected to attend G2 meetings and present their request using the G2 Approval to Scope or G2 Approval to Execute slide templates. These are available in the IT Project Request section of the Service Catalog, or can be provided by the Relationship Manager or Project Manager.
This governance process ensures transparency across the VUIT Project Pipeline, helping requestors prioritize their projects based on resource capacity and strategic alignment.
