Eskind Library Wall Moves

Purpose

This article is intended to instruct users of opening and closing the airwalls and setting the rooms for the appropriate use in Eskind Biomendical Library.

Prerequisites

  • Opening/Closing an airwall requires the use of a specialize crank. Cranks can be acquired via building facilities or AV staff.

Description

To open or close an airwall, the lock must be disengaged on each door prior to moving, and the touchpanels must be set to the associated room mode.

Procedure

TO OPEN:

  1. Turn off both halves of the room
  2. Using either touchpanel, select "Room Mode" and change to "Combined"
  3. Locate the peg on the side of the interior wall and attach the crank like a socket wrench
  4. Turn the crank opposite the arrows on the peg
  5. Slide the wall pieces flat against the wall into the indentation

TO CLOSE:

  1. Turn off the room
  2. Using either touchpanel, select "Room Mode" and change to "Divided"
  3. Pull the wall panels out of their indentation in the solid wall and push them all the way down to the other side of the room. Be sure they fit snugly together without gaps.
  4. Locate the peg on the side of the last piece of wall and attach the crank like a socket wrench
  5. Turn the crank in the direction of the arrows on the peg until the extension is tight against the wall
