ChatGPT EDU - Workspace is Disabled/OAuth

Users who had a ChatGPT account with a Vanderbilt email prior to ChatGPT EDU Go-Live (1/12/2026) signed in with a password or OAuth.

If these users try to sign in with OAuth after the Go-Live date they will receive a "Workspace is Disabled" message. Please have users follow the steps below to merge the accounts.

  1. In a new browser window, go to https://onevu.vanderbilt.edu.
  2. Log in with your Vanderbilt email and authenticate using Okta.
  3. On the OneVU dashboard click the 'ChatGPT' icon, it is likely at the bottom of the screen.
  4. This action should force the account to merge.
