New Account Request

For alumni who do not have an existing VUnetID

For individuals with a primary affiliation to VUMC who are approved to access VU resources that require a VUnetID.

Used to request access for students, faculty, or staff prior to their actual start date.

Faculty who have been designated emeritus/retired faculty are eligible to be provided for-life access to their VUnetID and email address.

A non-human account used to represent a shared organizational asset or entity rather than an individual user.
These accounts are tied to physical or logical resources that people interact with directly.
If the account represents a thing people use (room, printer, device).
Examples include:
Conference rooms, Shared phones or call queues, Printers or shared devices, Equipment or location-based accounts.

A non-human account used by applications, services, or automation processes to perform system-level or background operations.
These accounts support machine-to-machine communication and are not intended for human interaction.
If the account is used by a system or automation (app, script, API).

An individual user account for guests, contractors, or other individuals that have a business or academic relationship with the university but are not employees. It could also include an emergency account created on a temporary basis for testing purposes or to remediate an imminent threat to the university. These accounts require sponsorship from a Vanderbilt paid employee.

Used for privileged access to applications, services, or Active Directory administrative rights. While a TLA does not have any inherent standard privileges applied at creation, they typically will gather enhanced access and permissions once assigned.

Any account which does not fall into one of the previous categories.
