eSignature (DocuSign) is a University-approved solution for collecting electronic signatures on documents. Anyone can sign DocuSign documents, including people outside of the university. Vanderbilt University (VU) employees can initiate requests for signatures after establishing a DocuSign departmental or unit account.
How do I get the service?
Vanderbilt University has a limited number of DocuSign envelopes available under its contractual agreement. Due to these limitations, academic and administrative units may incur charges for envelope usage.
To ensure transparency and proper oversight, Chief Business Officer (CBO) approval is required before new users can be added to DocuSign. This process helps confirm that units are aware of and agree to any potential charges associated with DocuSign use.
When submitting a request for DocuSign access, please attach the CBO’s approval email to the request form. Requests without documented approval will not be processed.
