How to Check Workstation Warranty Information

Purpose

The purpose of this article is to provide resources for checking the warranty status for Dell, HP, Lenovo, or Apple hardware devices.

Description

Most workstations issued by VU come with a standard three-year warranty, which covers accidental physical damage and hardware parts failure. This article provides resources for checking the hardware warranty for the most common device manufacturers used at Vanderbilt University.

  • Visit: https://checkcoverage.apple.com

  • Signing in is not necessary.

  • Enter the device serial number and complete the verification.

  • Click "Submit."

  • Warranty information will be displayed.

Common Issues/Troubleshooting

Unable to find device Serial Number or Service Tag:

  • Place a Service Request. A VUIT Technician will have additional resources for determining device warranty status. They will provide repair options, help with securing a loaner workstation, and guide you through the repair process.
