A computer name is a unique identifier assigned to your device, which allows it to be recognized on a network. Whether you are using Windows or macOS, knowing how to find your computer's name can assist with IT support or when connecting to other devices.
Open System Settings:
Click the Start button and select Settings.
Navigate to System Information:
Go to System > About.
Locate the Computer Name:
In the Device specifications section, find the field labeled Device name. This is your computer's name.
Open System Preferences:
Click the Apple icon in the upper-left corner of the screen and select System Settings.
Navigate to Sharing:
In the System Preferences window, click Sharing.
Find the Computer Name:
The computer name will be displayed at the top of the Sharing settings window.
