How to Turn On and Off a Projector in a Classroom Using the Crestron Touch Panel

Purpose

The purpose of this document is to describe the basics of operating a classroom that is equipped with a Crestron touch panel.

  • Vanderbilt University Community

    • Faculty and Staff

    • Undergraduate Students

    • Graduate and Professional Students

Description

This procedure will explain how to turn on and off a classroom that:

  • IS equipped with Crestron touch panels;
  • IS NOT a Departmental and Student Center space (even if it is equipped with a Crestron touch panel. It may have different procedures)

While not all Crestron touch panels have the same sources and available buttons as shown in the examples below, the following steps will still apply.

Procedure - Startup Steps

  1. Press the button that corresponds to the source that you want to display on the classroom AV system.

    • The screen will automatically lower

    • The projector and/or TV(s) will automatically power on

    • The source that was selected will automatically be set to show on the screen or TV(s)

  2. Press the space bar [if a keyboard is available].

    • The associated monitor for that PC will wake from its sleeping state

Procedure - Shutdown Steps

  1. Press the button labelled "Power" in the upper right corner

    • The projector and/or TV(s) will automatically power off

    • The screen will automatically rise

    •  

  

 

Exclusions

VUIT Classroom Technology does not support the School of Nursing, Engineering Science Building 6th floor, VUMC buildings, or spaces supported by Student Centers such as conference rooms, study spaces, and labs.
