How to Change Your Password

Purpose

The purpose of this article is to detail the process for self-service password resets. If you forget your password or need to reset it for any reason, OneVU provides a quick and secure self-service option. Follow the steps below to reset your password without contacting IT support.

    • Faculty and Staff

    • Undergraduate Students

    • Graduate and Professional Students

Prerequisites

  • You must have an active OneVU account. 

  • You must have set up at least one recovery option (e.g., email, SMS, or security question).

  1. Navigate to onevu.vanderbilt.edu/account-settings/home in your browser.   
  2.  
  3. Login using your @vanderbilt.edu email and password. Note: This password will be the same as the one you use with your VUnetID.  
  4.  
  5. Select “Manage Security Methods”.  
  6.  
  7. Select “Update” next to Password.   
     
  8. You will need to re-verify via prompt or security method on your account, and then it will allow you to change your password.
