Software and Computing Devices

VUIT fully supports all university-owned endpoint devices (desktops, laptops, tablets) within the four-year lifecycle. University-owned endpoint devices that are outside of the four-year lifecycle are supported to the best of our ability.

Support for personal devices is limited to connection to VU resources and services such as Wi-Fi, email, and printers. VUIT is responsible for management of all University-owned endpoint devices and services used to manage those devices.

Desktop Support

Vanderbilt University Information Technology (VUIT) offers comprehensive support for university-owned endpoint devices, ensuring optimal performance and management throughout their lifecycle. Support for personal devices is limited to connecting to Vanderbilt's resources like Wi-Fi, email, and printers. Lifecycle

VU Software Store

Provides the Vanderbilt University Community with software resources it needs for teaching, learning, and research at cost savings. Service Offering include Domain Request, SPSS for Student Labs, and Adobe Creative Cloud for Student Labs.

Printer and Printing

VUIT maintains a print server that hosts print queues to allow the efficient and secured sharing of networked printers that fall outside of the campus print program. This service also allows the automatic installation of the printer on the appropriate endpoint devices via automated policy.

Software and Computing Devices General Request

Support for the many services provided by VUIT. These services include CrashPlan, Computer re-image/re-assignment to new team member, computer equipment moves, loaner devices, device management questions, decommissioning VU Issued computers, and many others.
