Exceptions may be available in some cases.

A5 exception requests last for either 1 month or 6 months and must be renewed by submitting a new request via the TDX request form upon their expiration. We do not reopen old requests as a way of renewing.

The Domain Name System (DNS) is a service that converts website names (like vanderbilt.edu) into numerical addresses (like 129.59.86.49) and vice versa. DNS can also create shortcuts to other website names (for example, example.vanderbilt.edu can point to example.vendor.com).


SRFS is the preferred Vanderbilt IT service for outbound SMTP relay from systems/devices. Only qualified systems that are registered with the SRFS service are allowed to use the service.
