Microsoft

Boost your productivity with Microsoft Office products. Access essential tools like Word, Excel, and PowerPoint for all your document, spreadsheet, and presentation needs.

Email

Encompasses the provision, management, and support of reliable electronic communication and scheduling tools for faculty, staff, researchers and students. These services facilitate efficient communication, collaboration, and organization across academic, administrative, and research activities within the university community.

Microsoft Teams

Collaborate seamlessly with Microsoft Teams. Chat, meet, call, and collaborate all in one place, whether you're working remotely or in the office.

Telephony

VUIT provides service to over 6,000 voice users across the university with features and capabilities such as voice mail, conference calling, long distance calling, conference bridges, call forwarding, and call center features. Service is provided using Microsoft Teams and Cisco Unified Communications. Any Vanderbilt University faculty or staff can request telephone/voice services.

Office 365 Licensing Exception

The A5 license provides full access to the Microsoft 365 service, including the ability to install applications on personal devices. It's available to paid employees, staff, and students.
Exceptions may be available in some cases.

Email Retention Policy Exception

Faculty and staff may request an exception to the standard email retention policy if there is a need to retain specific emails beyond the normal retention period. Reasons for an exception may include legal obligations, compliance requirements, research continuity, or other academic and administrative needs. Each request will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis to ensure it meets the necessary criteria for extended retention.

Digital Strategies: University Web Development and Content Management

Digital Strategies, part of the Communications and Marketing department, is responsible for managing the overall web presence and strategy for Vanderbilt University. The team oversees most of the university's web properties, providing support in web development, content management, and digital communication to ensure a cohesive and high-quality digital experience for all users on the Vanderbilt.edu domain.
